Furore is a very special destination for both dispersed nature, surrounded by Mediterranean woodlands, and tranquillity. We can figure out its value and the attractiveness of its places quoting the associations where it is involved for beauty, vivacity and gastronomic speciality: "Italy's most Beautiful Villages", "Italian Association of Cities of Wine" and "Italian Association of Painted Villages". With its landscape, paths and lemon grooves, Furore can combine an infinite number of tourist activities.

The Fjord is the symbol, par excellence, of the fisherman's village of Furore. It's a big body of water topped by suspension bridge approximately 30 metres in height. The bridge, in turn, is topped by a stretch of the Amalfi Coast Road. In the Fjord, there are so-called "Monazzeni" (ancient houses of the fishermen), the "Stenditoio" and the "Calcara" (buildings once used for the production of paper and for construction). One side of this houses has been earmarked for a museum dedicated to Anna Magnani and Roberto Rossellini, who lived in Furore during the shooting of "L'Amore". In addition to the Fjord of Furore, we suggest you to visit the trekking paths placed around its valley: the Path of Abu Tabela, the Fishing Vixen Trail, the Crows Nest Trail, the Mad Bats' Path, the Walks of Love and the Caves of Santa Barbara. I heard of this place through a photo on Pinterest and decided while we were driving through Italy I would try and find it and take a better look! I've never been so happy I did look for it and did find it! One of the most beautiful locations I have ever been to. The beach is a pebble beach. The water is beautiful and the entire area is so picturesque! I would definately advise you to, if you have the time, visit it!

A very unique place to take a breather, have a swim or enjoy a coffee at the cafe. Once you arrive at Fiordo di Furore, make sure you visit the now Historic Listed Grain and Paper Mills which are located further back in the Fiord. With the right timing, you can get some spectacular photographs of the colourful boats "resting" on the sand. The little church in the cliffs is worth a visit too.

Take the hike from Conca dei Marini to Furore. Traverse past duomos, hillside gardens and villas, up and down many steps, some irregular and steep, all very rocky. Stop for a lemoncello at the local gas station. Dodge cars on a narrow strip of highway on part of the journey that shares the roadway. Then, finally you reach the fjiords. Beautiful, deep cut into the hillside.

Path of the Gods

The Path starts in Bomerano, a small town near Agerola, and it ends in Nocelle, a small green town a few minutes away from the center of Positano.

The Cathedral complex stands majestically at the top of a long flight of steps up from the main square in Amalfi. It is well worth paying the entry fee of 3 euro for a journey of discovery. Turn left at the top of the steps and enter through the peaceful Paradise Cloisters before entering the impressive Basilica of the Crucifix. Inside is the Diocesan Museum with amazing sacred treasures, many dating back to the 13th century.

Amazing views of the coastline, mountains and beautiful countryside. Do stop at the little bar on route ( before Nocelle) for a drink as it has amazing views and is a pleasant, scenic place to stop after all the walking. We did manage to get lost after reaching Nocelle. Ended up walking down the road to Positano which was 5k walk down a winding road. Still nice views though. Highly recommend this walk.

We walked around the Villa Rufolo (small entrance fee) and enjoyed the lovely buildings, and the most amazing views across the Amalfi Coast. The flowers and gardens are just beautiful. It’s a lovely place to sit and just chill out for a while, and there's toilets!. The history of the place is very well described in the info booklet you get on admission, and is very interesting. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

What to Visit in Capri

In view of the geographical proximity, the Isle of Capri is frequently identified with the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Peninsula. So, if you're in Furore, you must visit this island, also because it's one of the most exclusive destination in Italy. Surrounded by the traditional Mediterranean woodland and by the picturesque grottoes that made its coasts popular, Capri is a natural treasure extending in the Gulf of Naples and so you can reach it only by sea. It is a collection of fabulous attractions included among Marina Grande, Marina Piccola and Anacapri (the high point of the island). One can't go on without mentioning the Faraglioni Rock, the Natural Arch, the Blue Grotto, Via Krupp and the "Piazzetta" (the little square called Umberto I), the Tiberius' Villa and the Augustus Gardens.

After circling Capri, your captain will dock the boat in the prestigious Marina Grande of Capri and you can disembark for three hours of free time to explore this Italian island dreamscape.
